A brave new year: Hotel Limbo and Molecule Development Scheme

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's a new day, a new year and a new Tin Shed Theatre Co.

We've got a lot planned for 2015, what with our large scale Macbeth at Raglan Castle potentially coming to fruition, the creation of a new piece of studio theatre currently titled; Hotel Limbo, and the restoration of our never-quite-off-it's-feet development scheme Molecule. We've also got plenty of  room for loads of other shenanigans and projects including our NIA: Artist Walk on 21st February.

We're really looking forward to getting our teeth into 2015.

But right now I'd like to tell you about two things your beautiful eyes and ears to gander:

HOTEL LIMBO

Where do all our hopes and dreams go? Do they cash a cheque, pack a bag, catch a bus and book a room in some forsaken hotel? Do they sit, teary eyed, sipping piss-weak-tea until oblivion comes? Or do they dance disgustingly under the neon light of the hotel sign?

A washed-up clown and a woman who won’t stop eating perform a physical lament.

We invite you to share a brief encounter with two desperate characters, inspired by modern perils. This will be the first piece of work created by Tin Shed Theatre under their new formation as a duo.

We're developing the work initially as part of Bristol Old Vic's Ferment Fortnight.

PERFORMANCE
HOTEL LIMBO
FERMENT FORTNIGHT
Bristol Old Vic

MOLECULE

The sceme will be test-piloted by Dino Rovaretti, a Newport born, Bristol based performance maker currently making performance work as an individual and as part of performance company Daughters Of Albion. Dino will serve to be the first performance maker to work through the cogs of Molecule in order for us to develop our approach and formula for Summer Molecule.

Here's a little more on the work he intends to make.

Dino Roveretti - Made Of Paper

Using an autobiographical narrative of illness and loss Dino tells the story of his medical journey with a congenital condition that he shared with a special teddy bear. After a period of research in 2014 (see Missing Bear project), Dino presents a piece of visual poetry centred on his body and the one that is stuffed with fluff, in order to re-combine medicine and theatre. Using his medical notes from aged 5-10 as a score and script, Dino attempts to fit back into his younger body and understand his history and position on a notional scale of ‘health’.
